The Hardik Pandya- Chris Morris Incident- The match between the Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bangalore went down to the wire. It was decided in the last over and lived up to the expectations. The rivalry was intense and the fans would have loved the match. Both teams were eager to win the game and ensure safe passage into the knockout stages.
However, it was the Mumbai Indians that came out on top in this one. They managed to win the game by five wickets, with five balls left to spare.
What Was The Incident Between Hardik Pandya And Chris Morris
Well, as cricketers tend to do in the heat of the moment, the two couldn’t help but react and show gestures. Hardik Pandya was really excited as he hit the South African a six over long-run. There were a few words exchanged as well, though Morris held his cool.
Post that, Hardik Pandya once again tried to play a stroke against the attacking bowler. This time, he hit the shot into the covers. Mohammed Siraj dived to his left and took a good catch.
While he was going back, Chris Morris pointed towards him after a few smiles and words. In return, Hardik Pandya couldn’t help himself and retaliated as well. It was all fun and games, with a few serious stares and gestures.
Hardik Pandya And Mumbai Indians Had The Last Laugh-
At the end of it all the Mumbai Indians won the game and took home all two points. This would have been disappointing for Virat Kohli and co. They had started the game quite positively but their lower-middle-order let them down.
This should have been a win for their side, had their batted better. Some may even once again point fingers at the Indian skipper. However, it seems that their batting is just not good enough, apart from a top few.
They really need to contribute better and a team-performance was the need of the day. However, that did not happen and they ended up losing to the Mumbai Indians. The team from Mumbai is now on top, with RCB still in second place.
Surya Kumar Yadav Takes The Mumbai Indians Home Single-Handedly
It was a brilliant inning by Surya Kumar Yadav that guided his team home. Though the Royal Challengers Bangalore would have been disappointed with the total they posted, they did start off positively.
Yadav, who is known as SKY had to make a 79 of 43 balls in order to push his team across the line. His knock was brilliant and was really appreciated by the fans. Some even argued as to why he was not in the Indian team for the tour of Australia.
A player hand-picked by Sachin Tendulkar would have made his mentor really proud. Let’s wait and watch if he can deliver in the days to come. This unbeaten knock was really a positive one and the Mumbai Indians look like a well-balanced side. They will surely be hard to beat and top contenders, as they look to retain their IPL title.
