In the later stage of IPL, competition is going intense due to playoff race. Even if Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings(CSK) are out of the contention of playoff seat, they can still damage dreams of other teams of qualifying playoffs. They defeated Kolkata Knight Riders in the last game by six wickets.CSK player Ambati Rayudu tried to save a boundary on the first ball of 16th over but umpire declared it four after watching replays of the fielding.
Rayudu didn’t like this decision of umpires and showed his disappointment and threw his hands up in frustration. Commentators Simon Doull noticed that he touched the rope while saving that boundary, so decision done by TV umpire seems right to commentators and audience. At the end of the match, the result fell in the right direction for CSK. While chasing the 173 runs, Ruturaj amassed 72 runs off just 53 balls comprising with six boundaries and two sixes. Veteran Indian batsman Ambati Ruyudu also smacked 38 runs off just 20 balls comprising with five boundaries and one six. But with wickets of Ruturaj, Rayudu, skipper MS Dhoni, CSK came under pressure. However, Jadeja played blistering knock in pressure to help his team to win the match on the last ball. When CSK needed seven runs in two balls, he smoked two back to back to sixes to Kamlesh Nagarkoti to seal the deal for CSK.

Before that CSK won the toss and opted to bowl.KKR batsmen Nitish Rana and Shubhman Gill played brilliantly for KKR. Opener Nitish Rana smashed 87 runs off 61 balls to score the total of 172 runs from 20 overs. He hammered 10 fours and four gigantic sixes. Wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik finished innings by smacking 21 runs off just 10 balls comprising with three boundaries.

Playoff scenarios for KKR now
With this win of CSK, as KKR can achieve only 14 points now in this season with a win the next game, Mumbai Indians became the first team to qualify for playoffs in IPL 2020. Also, KKR has to win their last game by a big margin to better their net run rate to qualify for play-offs.CSK are already out of the race of playoffs with eight losses in this season.
