Changes In Team India- After an embarrassing end to the first Test match, India has announced four major changes in their team for the second Test against the Aussies. It seems that the management has fulfilled all the requests of the Indian fans. Two youngsters are also set to make their Test debuts for India.
The Latest Changes Made By Team India
The one player who was being rumoured the most to be dropped out of the team was Prithvi Shaw and the management has done just that. After a disastrous performance in the first Test, he will now be replaced by his former U19 teammate Shubhman Gill. The 21-year-old had an amazing form in the practice tests against Australia A and Cricket enthusiasts were surprised when Shaw was chosen over the team.
Prithvi Shaw has a below-par performance in the first test match. Many cricket analysts clearly pointed out that the Youngster had a big problem in his technique. Keeping a big gap between the bat and the pad, Shaw was bowled in both innings through in-swinging balls. He made a duck in the first innings and just four runs in the second. However, the change has now been done and it will be interesting to see how debutant Gill performs.
Another Change In The Wicket-Keeping Slot
Another expected swap was between Wriddhiman Saha and Rishabh Pant. However, there were many debates regarding this. Many thought that Saha is a much better keeper than Pant which gives him the edge in selection. However, keeping the batting conundrum in mind, Rishabh Pant has been selected as the wicket-keeper for the second test match. Pant had hit a fabulous century in the second match and he will definitely add to India’s run tally.
Mohammad Shami had been injured by delivery by Pat Cummins that hit his arm. The tailender had to be retired hurt. It was already reported that Shami will not be able to play the other test matches because of the injury.
That paved the way for Mohammad Siraj to make his debut. It will be a special moment for the young pacer because, during the Australian tour, his father living in Hyderabad, India died due to an ailment. The pacer refused to go back home because he wanted to do his duty first.
What Next For Team India In This Series?
Among the other changes, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has made a comeback into the playing 11 after a long time. Having been in a wonderful form in the ODI and T20 series, Jaddu deserved this.
However, KL Rahul has still not been selected. It was being speculated that the wicket-keeper batsman will be replacing Hanuma Vihari in the team but the management seemingly still trusts Vihari. It was being rumoured that KL Rahul will be fulfilling Virat Kohli’s place in the team but was not so.
The Indian fans will hope this team to make some improvements. The new players will definitely add some spark.
