Indian veteran fast bowler and the 2011 ICC Cricket world cup winner Sreesanth gets his second wicket after returning to cricket, but this with a leg-spin. The 37-years-old started his second innings in cricked playing in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Emotions were all over him when he took his first wicket with an absolute peach of a delivery which helped Kerala to win the game. This time though his efforts came for a losing cause as Kerala lost the game after winning last three.
The Kerala pacer’s numbers were 1/25 and he bowled three overs. Kerala put only 112 in 20 overs for the loss of four wickets which was not enough in the end as Andhra were comfortable winners.
Sreesanth is very much motivated after starting his second spell and has set a tough challenge for himself which is to play in the 2023 ODI World cup. He was the part of the team under Mahendra Singh Dhoni in 2011 cricket world cup in India where he won the champion’s medal and he wants to taste that again.
The Interview With TOI And The Video That Went Viral
“As a fast bowler, I will be creating history. We all know that I like to create history. I am not just looking at the season ahead but at the next three years. My real goal is to be in the 2023 World Cup team and win the cup.”

“It is true that this is the kind of age when there is nothing much left to achieve in sports. Despite that, someone like Leander Paes won a grand slam at 42. Roger Federer is another prime example.”
Kerala is occupying the second spot at the moment in Elite group E, but have the same points as Table-toppers Haryana who have a game in hand. Delhi and Puducherry are behind them in that table only by 4 points. Sreesanth is excited about the current campaign and believes that this Kerala side has every chance to win the trophy this year as they have never done that.
What S Sreesanth Said About The Whole Situation And His Jersey Number?
“Life is coming full circle now. Kerala has never won this tournament previously. However, we have a very good team now and anything is possible. I am really excited to be part of this unit. Also, it is a pleasure to play under the guidance of coach Tinu Yohannan.”
The Kerala fast bowler is wearing the 369 jersey in this Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament. He has a special reason behind that. Usually, he wears the 36 number behind his back but now he is a father of a little girl named Srisanvika who was born on the 9th of May.
“This time I will be wearing number 369 at the back of my shirt instead of 36. Nine because my daughter Srisanvika, who was born on the 9th of May. Srisanvika means Lakshmi. Everyone knows my wife’s name is Bhuvneshwari Kumari. She is called ‘Nayan’ at home. So it sounds like nine too. This is the actual reason why I have decided to wear jersey number 369.”
