India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah on Monday married sports presenter and a famous face in Star Sports’ IPL team Sanjana Ganesan in what is reported as a privately held ceremony in Goa. The duo took to social media to announce their marriage as congratulatory messages poured in.

While there had been rumours of the wedding bells ringing at the Bumrah’s and Ganesan’s since the past week, Jasprit and Sanjana’s wedding pictures not only steered away from the gossip but also displayed how beautiful the couple is. The yorker master was released by the BCCI from the Indian squad post the fourth Test match – the series – as he had cited ‘personal reasons. However, there was no confirmation on the marriage as both the families seemingly wanted to keep it a lowly affair.

As soon as the news was out, their marriage hit the trends and messages started pouring in. Some of Bumrah’s teammates and greats from the cricket fraternity congratulated the couple.

“Many congratulations on the start of this beautiful journey. Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness,” the BCCI wrote for the couple.

 

“Bumrah bowled over by Sanjana. Here’s wishing love, laughter, and a happily ever after for @Jaspritbumrah93 and @SanjanaGanesan,” wrote Mumbai Indians in their tweet.

The Pandya brothers, Indian skipper Virat Kohli and former off-spinner Harbhajan Singh also wished Bumrah and Ganesan. It was a great moment for the young faster bowler.

A typical IPL product, Bumrah solved India’s death bowling woes when he debuted in the blues in 2016. He led India’s pace attack in the 2017 Champions Trophy, translating his white-ball prowess into red-ball cricket only a year later. Since then not a bilateral series, a tournament, or even a Test match session has gone by where the fans have not looked at Bumrah as the main man.

Sanjana Ganesan on the other hand came to the fame game as a model. Also, she was a contestant in MTV’s reality shows Splitsvilla. She has been associated with cricket as a sports presenter with IPL and Kolkata Knight Riders.
