IPL Transfer Window Activated: Rajasthan Royals Send Player Loan RequestRajasthan Royals are one of the strugglers in the current edition of the Indian Premier League. Sanju Samson’s side is at sixth position in the table with two wins out of the first five matches. They are still not in the worst kind of scenario in the tournament at the moment. They have put up some exciting performances already. Royals are without their four key overseas players with Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer are out of the tournament with injuries.
Liam Livingstone and Andrew Tye are in bubble fatigue so far. With nine games still left to play before the playoffs, they have a strong chance to qualify. With a comfortable win against the Kolkata Knight Riders couple of days back in Mumbai, the squad must be high on confidence. Let’s see if they can carry it further in the upcoming games.
Who Will Sign For RR With The IPL Transfer Window Activated
Royals are in need of some players. They have a chance to strengthen the squad with the transfer window being now activated. There are a few good fringe players in some teams that they can sign till the end of the season. The likes of Ajinkya Rahane(DC), Venkatesh Iyer(KKR), Priyam Garg(SRH) are few examples that they can go for.
As per the IPL playing conditions, “the Loan Window will start at 9 am IST on the day following the 20th league match scheduled for the season and will end at noon IST on the day following the 56th league match scheduled for the season.”
It means the window got activated at 9 am on Monday (April 26) after the doubleheader on Sunday night. That was positive news for some of the teams.
According to the IPL rules, a player who has, at the start of the loan period, played (either in the Playing XI or as a Concussion Replacement) less than two matches during the season can be loaned. Of course, he can be loaned in a season only once, it has to be for the entire remainder of the league and cannot play against his home franchise. For the record, “each franchisee may loan no more than three of its players to the same franchisee during the season.”
Is There Another Player Heading Their Way; Sehwag Unhappy With Sanju Samson On CricBuzz?
Meanwhile, Virender Sehwag is not impressed with Sanju Samson’s captaincy so far. He thinks the highly talented wicket-keeper batsman needs to change his body language. According to Sehwag, he should be more active on the field. Sehwag claims there are few players in RR who are not looking happy playing under Samson’s captaincy. Alongside that Samson needs to support his bowlers more quickly when they are going for runs.
“Looking at his body language, his teammates do not appear too happy with him being the captain. But this is a fact that if a player remains on his own and suddenly, he is made the captain, it takes him time to talk to players, mix with them. So that I feel is proving to be difficult for Sanju Samson.”

“When a bowler gets taken for runs, it is important to see how the captain responds. I have noticed this with Rishabh Pant. The fact is that he goes and keeps his hands on the bowler’s shoulders and goes ‘It does not matter. You will get hit for 40-50. But bowl according to your field’. This helps the bowler retain his confidence in the captain. Irrespective of what the result is, the captain should continue showing the confidence of a bowler who is being taken for runs or even a batsman who isn’t scoring runs.”
Scott Kuggeleijn – who has been part of the IPL 2021 bubble as a reserve for Mumbai Indians – moves to RCB as a replacement for Kane Richardson. That is surprising as the team from Rajasthan needs a replacement. This is the first out of quite a few potential moves with the IPL transfer window activated.
