The Roy Kaia-Abid Ali Story- Pakistan continued their winning momentum as they registered a 2-0 Tests series victory against Zimbabwe. With that, they managed to not lose any series in the tour of South Africa. Earlier, Pakistan locked horns against South Africa in a One Day International series and T20- international series. Pakistan won the ODI series by 2-1 and the T20I series by a margin of 3-1.
Then, Pakistan visited Zimbabwe and kicked off their visit with a three-match t20 International series. Zimbabwe finally managed to win a T20I against Pakistan in their 16th attempt. they won the second T20I of the series against Pakistan. Having scored 118/9 in their first innings, they managed to restrict the Men In Green to a meagre 99 on the board. However, Pakistan made it clear of their supremacy against Zimbabwe in the longest format of the game, as they won both the Test matches convincingly by an innings and completed a whitewash.
Abid Ali scored a double century to give the visitors the advantage in this match and the series
In the final match of the Test series, Abid Ali’s unbeaten 215 runs innings guided Pakistan to a massive score of 510 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Azhar Ali and Nauman Ali provided able support by scoring 126 and 97 runs respectively. the partnership of Abid and Azhar added to the frustration of the Zimbabweans as they stitched together a partnership of 236 runs from 450 balls. The Zimbabwe bowlers kept on looking for dismissal for the whole day.
When both of them were continuing batting on the first day and adding to Zimbabwe’s misery, a painful event happened. Bowler Tendai Chosoro bowled a fuller delivery outside the off stump. In response, Abid Ali shifted to the backfoot and smacked it straight to the knee of Roy Kaia. The intensity of the hit was so hard, that he was even facing the problem to stand up on his feet and hence had to walk out of the field.

As a result, he came to bat late in the Zimbabwe innings on the second day of the Test match. By that time, Hasan Ali had already triggered the collapse of the Zimbabwe batting lineup. Now, this was time for Kaia to return the favour to Abid, as he attempted a full and powerful sweep which hit Abid standing at short leg.
Abid tried to get away from the path of the ball and it hit his elbow. He was wriggling with pain. The physios had to take him out of the field after some treatment and sprays. In the meantime, Zimbabwe lost all their wickets for 132 and Pakistan registered an innings victory and 147 runs. Abid Ali won the Player Of The Match award for his double century. On the other hand, Hasan Ali won the Player Of The Series award for picking up 17 wickets, which included two five-wicket hauls.
