England Vs India: Former Pakistani Captain Makes Bold Claim About Indian Pacer

Mohammed Siraj

England Vs India Story- The five-Test match series between India and England is underway. Virat Kohli’s men are desperate to prove themselves in tough English conditions after their shock defeat in the ICC World Test Championship final against New Zealand. Indian batting collapsed dramatically against Kiwi pacers in the second innings of that game, however, the bowling unit performed well.

In the last few years, the Indian pace attack in tests has improved very well as bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and newcomers like Shardul Thakur and Mohammed Siraj have taken the responsibility of taking wickets in every playing condition alongside spin attack.

England Vs India: The Latest Comments On The Performance In The Series

Since making his debut in Australia, Mohammed Siraj has been a sensation for team India. Siraj’s form has been on the rise since the IPL 2020 in UAE last year. He was a key member in India’s famous test series win in Australia earlier this year. In the first Test against England in Trent Bridge, Nottingham, Siraj picked up only three wickets. He was very economical. His spells put enough pressure on English batters throughout the game.

He is never looking low on confidence which has made the captain and the team management trust him over veteran pacer Ishant Sharma in the first game. India was favourites to win it as they needed only 150+ runs to chase with enough batting to come but rain suspension on the fifth day resulted in the game being a draw.

In a recent video which was uploaded on his official youtube channel, former Pakistan skipper and opening batsman Salman Butt praised Siraj’s recent performances in test cricket for the national side, particularly in the first test against England. Butt says Siraj is not playing like a newcomer which is a big positive for India’s bowling in this series.

What Salman Butt Said About Siraj In A Video On His YouTube Channel?

“Mohammed Siraj may be relatively inexperienced at the Test level but he has played a lot of first-class cricket and has been on A tours as well. The way he bowls, he does not seem like a newcomer in Test cricket.”

“Knows what lines to bowl. He is young and has the pace as well. The exuberance of youth can be seen when he runs in to bowl. Siraj has challenged the batsmen, bent his back and bowled bouncers. He is tall and strong. Siraj is definitely a brilliant future prospect. Has provided the team with wickets and not giving away too much.”

“Fits into this team really well. I do not know whether Ishant Sharma was fit or not for the first Test. However, without a doubt, Siraj was really impressive as was Shardul Thakur. They backed Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami really well. It is because of their fast bowlers that India has started winning Tests away from home.”

After the draw in the first game, India and England will be looking to register a win in the second Test at Lord’s starting from Thursday this week.
