Newcastle United Expected To Sign Tottenham Star Next Summer

Harry Kane

Darren Ambrose, a former Newcastle United midfielder, predicts that the Magpies will break the British transfer record by acquiring Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane.

Newcastle United’s recent takeover has allowed the media and commentators to speculate about the club’s potential transfer movements in the future. Players from all over the world have become involved with the club.

That is as a result of their newfound riches and the tales keep coming in. Another England player has been linked to them after Rio Ferdinand recommended they sign Raheem Sterling earlier this month.

Darren Ambrose, a former Newcastle United midfielder, believes the Magpies will break the British transfer record by acquiring England captain Harry Kane this summer. He thinks that the Tyneside club will make Tottenham an offer that they will be unable to reject for the 28-year-old.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker was involved in a transfer controversy between Manchester City and his former club. That was when chairman Daniel Levy refused to consider any bids from Pep Guardiola’s side. In an attempt to sign the England captain, the Premier League winners allegedly offered up to £130m in compensation. Despite that, they were unsuccessful.

Some sources had indicated that Kane could sign a new deal with Manchester City next summer. But it is uncertain whether or not the Premier League champions will make an offer in the summer of 2022. Newcastle, on the other hand, is likely to jump in and make a substantial bid for the striker in the summer of 2022.

The Verdict On The Future Of Harry Kane Made By Darren Ambrose

Darren Ambrose, a former Newcastle midfielder, has indicated that this might be the case. That the club could break the British transfer record in order to sign the forward. Several excerpts from The Sun’s interview with Ambrose were uploaded on TEAMtalk. In these, he predicted that the new owners will sign Kane as their first statement signing next summer.

Darren Ambrose reveals how Sir Bobby Robson convinced him to turn down Arsenal for Newcastle - Chronicle Live

“What about Harry Kane? How about him? Now, I say this because it is expected that Manchester City or Chelsea would spend between £100m and £120m in the summer transfer window. They are not, in my opinion. I believe [City] spent about £130m this summer, and I believe Newcastle will as well. They will spend between £150m and £200m.”

“Let us suppose Daniel Levy puts another outrageously expensive transfer price on the table that no one else is willing to pay, and Newcastle responds by saying, ‘OK, there is £150m. Which team has a better chance of winning a trophy at this point in time? Which team is better right now, Tottenham or Newcastle? Newcastle United is likely to be the talk of the town for the foreseeable future. That is since they are an exciting project with a lot of potential.”

Newcastle does have a lot of money to spend, now that they have taken over the club. However, it is critical that they use their money wisely. Rather than splurge it on each and every player they come across. It remains to be seen if they will be able to put together a team that is capable of competing on all fronts.
