Arsenal Keeping Tabs On Premier League Defender

Arsenal

Arsenal is allegedly interested in signing Leicester City defender James Justin, with Mikel Arteta eager to add defensive reinforcements to his squad.

According to Fichajes, Arsenal is investigating prospective right-back possibilities, with James Justin being named as one of their main objectives at the moment. Mikel Arteta seems to be eager to provide a more attacking option for Takehiro Tomiyasu in an effort to provide more diversity on the defensive side of the ball for the team.

Justin is said to be one of three players nominated by the Premier League giants. It is in their pursuit of a new right-back in the summer transfer window. The Leicester City youngster was selected for the squad because of his offensive skills as well as his versatility in playing on both wings.

Incredible' Justin Out With ACL Injury, Rodgers Confirms

The Japanese international has done a commendable job in providing stability at the right-back

After all, the 23-year-old has had a meteoric rise to fame over the last 18 months. He has emerged as a promising prospect in the full-back position. Already in his first season with the club, he has made 49 appearances in competitive matches, scoring four goals and recording four assists.

As previously said, Justin is a superb runner on the flanks. He can provide a great deal of attacking assistance for the attackers. That is by running out wide in a marauding fashion. A positive outcome for Arsenal, who have employed new acquisition Tomiyasu as their primary right-back thus far this season.

The Japanese international has done a commendable job in providing stability at right-back. Arteta, on the other hand, wants to utilise him as a centre-back in the future. That is while simultaneously buying a more attack-minded right-back and cashing in on Cedric Soares.

The Leicester City star may prove to be a great squad player for Arsenal

Even Hector Bellerin seems to be facing an uncertain future at the Emirates. So it should come as no surprise that Arsenal is interested in signing James Justin. He should be an excellent replacement for Tomiyasu.

That is due to his speed on the flanks. His ability to operate on the other side means he can also provide protection for Kieran Tierney if necessary.

Overall, the Leicester City star may prove to be a great squad player for Arsenal. The club is also in the market for another Leicester defender Caglar Soyuncu.

It would be tough for Arsenal to approve a transfer for any of the players. Justin, in particular, having a long-term deal with Leicester City. The contract does not expire until 2025. It is possible that Arsenal may pursue Soyuncu in the next January transfer window. The Turkish international is expected to command a high price tag.
