Sourav Ganguly, the head of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has tested positive for Covid 19 in the middle of the prospect of a third wave of the disease in the country. However, according to sources, he is now in a stable condition. The news of the incident occurred in the middle of the night, and the former India captain is presently being held in isolation.
According to BCCI sources, Ganguly was brought to the hospital after the results of his RT-PCR test came back positive. In several regions of India, there has been an upsurge in the number of Covid-19 positive infections during the previous few days, according to the latest available data. In terms of new instances, the situation is said to be more difficult in Delhi and Mumbai, particularly in the case of the new variation Omicron, according to reports.
The Latest Update On The Health Of Sourav Ganguly
“BCCI President and former India captain Sourav Ganguly was taken to a hospital after testing positive for Covid-19,” A BCCI source confirmed the report from Hindustan Times.
It had been speculated that the development of this new form of the Covid 19 would put doubt on India’s series in South Africa. Both nations are slated to play three Tests and the same number of One-Day Internationals.
The Woodlands Hospital, on the other hand, has released a media statement to offer an update on his condition. As stated in the announcement, Ganguly was treated with Monoclonal Antibody Cocktail treatment on the same night. It also identified the physicians who are now examining his health condition.
“According to hospital records, Mr Sourav Ganguly, president of the BCCI and a former Indian cricket captain, was admitted to Woodlands Multispecialty Hospital late on December 27, 2021, with a positive Covid test result.
He was treated with Monoclonal Antibody Cocktail treatment the same night and is presently hemodynamically stabilized. He is being closely monitored by a medical board that includes Dr Saraj Mondal, Dr Saptarshi Basu and Dr Soutik Panda, as well as Drs Devi Shetty and Dr Aftab Khan,” according to a statement from the hospital.
What Did The Ganguly Family Say About This Current Condition?
Ganguly’s wife has already spoken out about her husband’s present circumstances. According to her, he had a minor temperature and a sore throat starting on Sunday. She went on to say that he was immediately isolated and that the test had been completed. His wife has also said that the BCCI president is in good health and that all of his health metrics are within normal limits.
“He is doing well, and all of his health metrics are normal at this time. There are no other issues with him. Since Sunday, Sourav has been suffering from a moderate fever and sore throat. He was promptly isolated. The test was completed as soon as possible.
Last year, Snehasish-da (his brother) was diagnosed with Covid. Covid was also present in my parents and mother-in-law. Several of our housekeepers had also tested positive at various points during the year. It is not as though Covid exploded in the household like a flash of lightning. He was promptly quarantined as soon as there was even a tinge of fever in his system. Perhaps that is why Sana and I came back negative,” Dona Ganguly, his wife, speculated.
