The world was stunned on Sunday, when Real Madrid were held to a 1-1 draw by Eibar on Sunday, as Zinedine Zidane’s side were expected to pick up yet another win in the La Liga at home. However, things did not go their way and it was another two points dropped for the champs of Europe.
This game the club’s domestic rivals an opportunity to climb above them in the points table to first place, though both teams are tied on 15 each at present.
Fran Rico had put the visitors in front early in the match, but winger Gareth Bale soon made it 1-1, after heading in from Cristiano Ronaldo’s fine cross.
Here is what Zidane said after the match when asked if his team were in some sort of crisis, “This is not a crisis. This is just October, we can’t go crazy. Something is happening for sure, four draws in a row, especially the three in La Liga.”
“When you are ahead, after the start of the season we had, it is difficult. But I will not lose my head, and nor will the players.”
It was a tough game for Real once again, who have not been in top form in recent times. However, the manager is still confident that his side will recover and get back to winning ways soon.
