LSG vs PBKS Live Update: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) spinner Krunal Pandya was one of the standout performers for the team during their match against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Friday. This talented bowler contributed with a miserly spell of just 11 runs but also claimed two important wickets. His ‘Player of the Match’ effort guided his team to a magnificent 20-run victory in their IPL 2022 match against the Punjab Kings.
When asked how he felt about the all-rounder after the game, veteran New Zealand spinner Daniel Vettori expressed his admiration. He believes that Pandya’s ability to bowl at a rapid tempo while simultaneously imparting topspin to the ball makes it tough for the hitters to contend with his deliveries. According to the former cricketer, the LSG spinner is capable of bowling successfully against both left- and right-handed batsmen because of this trait.
Vettori provided the following explanation:
“Krunal Pandya is one of the few bowlers who can bowl at that speed while still maintaining a degree of topspin on his deliveries. The majority of finger spinners who bowl at such a rapid pace must undercut the ball. So all that occurs is that the ball skids over the surface unless the surface is terrible. What Pandya is doing right now is testing the hitters with his speed, but he is also getting a dip in his pitching. It’s quite tough to go through the whole thing. That explains why he is so effective against both left- and right-handed opponents.”
Krunal Pandya bowled four overs, allowing just 11 runs. His other important wickets were Jonny Bairstow and Jitesh Sharma.
LSG vs PBKS Live Update: In response to Liam Livingstone’s performance against LSG, Daniel Vettori said, “He always wants to go big.”
After being allowed to bat first, the LSG batsmen managed to post a score of 153, which was much below par. Their bowlers, on the other hand, performed an excellent job in the second half of the match. In his analysis, Vettori pointed out that PBKS’s middle-order batsman Liam Livingstone was hoping to accelerate, but he finally got out in an unfortunate manner.
The right-hander managed just 18 runs against LSG and was out in the 13th over of the run chase. He was injured while attempting to play a scoop against fast bowler Mohsin Khan. He, on the other hand, did not make a good connection and the ball went straight to the keeper.
Vettori made the following statement:
“Liam Livingstone had reached the point in his career when he wanted to make a statement. He’s constantly looking to make a huge hit. That was evident in Bishnoi’s over when he smacked him for two sixes in a row. He simply wanted to keep going in that direction. I believe that that was an unfortunate wicket on my part.”
He went on to say that the English hitter can make an impression on any surface. Livingstone, according to the former New Zealand spinner, is a good tackler of spin bowlers and is fairly at ease when facing them.
Vettori feels Livingstone plays spinners very easily
He went on to explain:
“Livingstone is confident in his ability to play in all circumstances. We’ve seen him take on the spinners in the past. He has a lot of confidence in his ability to counter-spin spinners. Surfaces, in my opinion, do not present any difficulties for him. He only needs a companion to accompany him.”
PBKS are presently in the seventh position in the IPL points standings, with four victories and five defeats to their credit thus far this season. On the other side, LSG is in the third position in the rankings with six triumphs and three losses from nine matches so far this season.
