LSG vs KKR Live Update: Andre Russell Recalls His Most Memorable Moment Of IPL

LSG vs KKR Live Update

LSG vs KKR Live Update: Andre Russell of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) remembered one of his most memorable experiences in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 2019 season was particularly memorable for the seam-bowling all-rounder. He single-handedly carried his team to victory.

Russell concluded with an unbroken 48 off just 13 deliveries. It included seven sixes, to secure the victory. A staggering 17.66 runs per over was needed by Kolkata Knight Riders up till the completion of the 17th over. The Jamaican all-rounder, on the other hand, performed the unimaginable. He smashed the RCB bowlers in the 18th and 19th overs, scoring 52 runs in the process.

LSG vs KKR Live Update: What did Andre Russell say?

In a video posted on the Kolkata Knight Riders’ Twitter account, the West Indian recalled how KKR required 60 runs off the last four overs and his contribution to achieving that target. The veteran stated that such occurrences do not occur regularly. But he makes an effort to achieve such objectives.

“Yes, it would be the game against Bangalore when we needed roughly 60 runs off the final four overs to win. And I was able to get the squad back home with maybe five balls leftover. You know, things like that don’t happen every day. They may only happen once or twice a year. And I try to do those things as much as I can, with maybe not the same results. But at the very least to get the 40 runs in 15 balls, to do those things, and to give as much as I can to whatever team I am playing for. That is without a doubt one of my most unforgettable experiences,” Russell said.

The 34-year-old had hit seven sixes in a ferocious onslaught. It included three sixes in the 18th over, which was bowled by Marcus Stoinis. Tim Southee delivered the next over. He racked up 29 runs, including four maximums, in the process.

Even though his lone bowling over resulted in a 16-run outing, the all-rounder was named Player of the Match for his batting performance.

Despite the Knight Riders’ uneven performance in that edition, Andre Russell put together a commendable performance. Russell, who was frequently the lone warrior for the two-time champions, scored 510 runs in 14 matches at an average of 56.66, with a strike rate of 204.81.

The 34-year-old also claimed 11 wickets at a strike rate of 26.09, although his economy rate was 9.51.

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) returned to winning ways in their last game against the Rajasthan Royals. They are still in with a chance of making it to the playoffs with four games remaining in the league stage of the competition.

The Kolkata Knight Riders’ opening difficulties have been going on for quite some time. They have yet to find a solution in that area. Anukul Roy, who made his IPL debut for Kolkata Knight Riders in the most recent game, has shown promising indications with the ball. He is expected to retain his position as the second spinner. Rinku Singh, on the other hand, has emerged as the player of the moment for the Kolkata Knight Riders. He has battled his way into the starting XI and made an immediate impact in the team’s previous two games. The Kolkata Knight Riders will play their next match against the Lucknow Super Giants on the 7th of May at the MCA Stadium in Pune, and it will be a crucial match for them.
