Lukaku continued: “I believe that everything that took place was not planned to take place in such a manner. Moreover, the manner in which I resigned from Inter, the manner in which I interacted with the supporters, and even the moment at which I resigned were all inappropriate. Now, I believe it is appropriate for me to say this because I have always said that I will always have a place in my heart for Inter. I sincerely hope that one day I will be able to go back there and play for them. Want to begin by extending a sincere apology to the Inter supporters. I believe that the manner in which I departed the club should have been handled differently.”
Will Lukaku move to Inter?
Lukaku won the Serie A championship with Inter under the direction of Antonio Conte. He also departed from the club. The Belgian’s return to the club has been mainly unsatisfactory. He has only scored 15 goals in 44 games despite winning the FIFA Club World Cup with Chelsea this season.
At Stamford Bridge, Thomas Tuchel has been unsuccessful in getting the most out of Romelu Lukaku. If he can find a player of comparable caliber to take Lukaku’s position, the manager may be willing to let the player leave the club.
Moreover, a return to Inter would be beneficial for everyone involved. But the numbers have to add up for all parties.
