Virat Kohli is a great batsman who is about to reach another big milestone when Team India plays its first game of the Asia Cup 2022 against archrival Pakistan at Dubai International Stadium on Sunday (August 28).
On August 27, the Men in Blue will play their first game in Group A against the Men in Green.
When “King Kohli” steps onto the field for the highly anticipated match between two neighbouring countries, he will be making his 100th T20I appearance, which will be another feather in his already impressive cap.
So, the former captain will become the second Indian and the 14th cricketer overall to play 100 T20Is. Rohit Sharma, who replaced Kohli as India’s leader and has played in 132 T20Is, is at the top of the list.
On the other hand, Kohli will be the first Indian player to play in at least 100 international games in all three formats. The Delhi cricketer played in his 100th ODI against the West Indies in 2013. In March this year, he played in his 100th test at home against Sri Lanka.
Virat Kohli will use a special bat in his 100th T20I
Kohli is likely to use a special bat made just for him in his 100th T20I. Kohli’s bat is sponsored by MRF. They have made a special “Gold Wizard” bat for the tournament. According to reports, the material of the bat is a special, expensive wood willow.

The special “Gold Wizard” bat will cost about INR 22,000, according to reports, and pictures of it are going viral on social media. A fan posted a picture of the bat on Twitter and said that the former captain of India would use it in his 100th T20I match.
What did Kohli say?
Kohli talked about his mental approach and how he had been getting ready for the tournament on the Star Sports show Game Plan before the tournament.
“What happened to me in England was a pattern, so it was something I could work on and had to sort of get over. You’re right that there’s nothing you can point to right now that shows the problem is happening here. So that’s easier for me to deal with because I know I’m hitting well, and when I start to feel that rhythm again. That’s not a problem for me, which wasn’t the case in England, where I didn’t think I was batting well at all. So, I had to work hard on something that could be shown over and over again, but I was able to get past it,” he added.

Will he be the second guy after Ross Taylor to play 100 matches in all 3 formats, or are there others too?
