Before his contract with Real Madrid ends next summer, Arsenal is planning a January transfer for top player Marco Asensio. Next summer, Asensio will be free to join any team that wants him thanks to the expiration of his contract.
The Spanish international has started only one league game so far this season. He may be aiming to leave the club before the end of the current campaign.
Arsenal is interested in Marco Asensio
Calciomercatoweb reports that Arsenal is planning to make a bid for Asensio in January in order to sign the Real Madrid player before his current contract ends.
Asensio has a wide range of positional flexibility. The 26-year-old can play wide or in the middle of the field. Asensio has filled in as a centre forward for Spain at the World Cup in Qatar.
Because of his ability to play numerous positions, he might be a valuable asset to Arsenal. Leaving Real Madrid is the perfect option for his career. But with Arsenal’s hot start, he may struggle to make the starting lineup.
Liverpool also has interest
Liverpool has presented Real Madrid’s Jorge Mendes with a pre-contract offer for winger Marco Asensio. Asensio, who is out of contract with Real and has been negotiating a new deal since June.
According to Ok Diario, the forward prefers remaining in Madrid, despite the fact that Liverpool has made an offer far more lucrative than anything Real has proposed.
The Spanish national team, including Asensio, is presently in Qatar for the World Cup. Many teams have reached out to Asensio’s agent, not only Liverpool, but also Barcelona, Juventus, and Bayern Munich.
Real Madrid does not want to keep Asensio
According to a report on Tuttomercatoweb, Real Madrid is no longer interested in retaining him and has begun looking for a successor. As a result of losing the Spanish World Cup star, Carlo Ancelotti’s team reportedly wants to sign Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane.
In the event that Asensio departs Real Madrid, he will be one of the best offensive free agents on the market this summer. The forward has been instrumental in Madrid’s success. He has scored key goals and won several titles, including the Champions League on multiple occasions.
Even if his addition to Juventus’ attack will provide them with more experience and more goals, the move will be difficult to complete.
Juventus is also interested in him but Arsenal is the favourite
There are a number of teams interested in signing him. Juventus will need to do all in our power to beat them to the punch.
There was a time not too long ago when everyone assumed that Marco Asensio would leave Real Madrid. Even though he had been linked to major clubs like Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool over the summer, no transfer happened.
In the time since, however, Asensio’s situation at Real Madrid has evolved. There have been rumours of a contract extension. While he is not a starter, he is seeing more consistent playing time off the bench.
