Rivals Arsenal and Tottenham in north London are both interested in signing Ferran Torres from Barcelona in the next transfer window
Fichajes claims that Ferran Torres will be on the market during the next transfer window. A number of teams will be interested in signing him. Arsenal and Tottenham, two local rivals, are reportedly contemplating making overtures next month as they want to bolster their assault.
Even though Barcelona spent €55 million on him in January, he has fallen out of favour due to the signings of Raphinha and Ousmane Dembele. The dynamic Barcelona attacker is having trouble getting regular playing time. He does not seem to be a good fit for the team’s strategy under Xavi.
What’s the report?
As a result, there is much speculation about a potential exit from the club, with Barcelona maybe hoping to reclaim a sizeable portion of the €55 million spent on Manchester City. Torres is one of the few current players expected to make way for new incomings given rumours that Xavi wants a new midfielder, right-back, and an inside striker.
It would be tough for Barcelona to spend additional money on new players given the club’s current financial predicament. As a result, the only option is to sell off key players and rely instead on free-agent additions and other transfers. The €55 million that Barcelona spent for Torres a year ago may not be necessary to secure his release.
Numerous teams, including Juventus, are keeping eye on the talented Barcelona attacker because of his transferability. Torres has the option of going back to the Premier League, where he failed to live up to his potential. There’s no shortage of teams interested in him, but Arsenal and Tottenham have a chance.
After losing Gabriel Jesus for the month of January, the Gunners are in a difficult position. Arsenal may need to acquire a new striker if they are to maintain their title contention throughout the next three months without their star forward. Mikel Arteta is on the lookout for a new wide attacker to play alongside Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. His sights are set on Mykhaylo Mudryk.
Because Arteta and Torres worked together briefly at Manchester City, he is familiar with the player and may attempt to sign him. The Barcelona forward’s versatility has been shown on the international stage. But his club play has been less than impressive.
Will Arsenal or Tottenham get the Barcelona forward Ferran Torres?
Tottenham, who are looking to bolster their attack, are also reportedly interested. Antonio Conte is looking to add depth to his attack despite bringing in Richarlison and pairing the Brazilian with Son Heung-min and Harry Kane.
Similarly, Lucas Moura’s time at Spurs is winding down. Conte may be looking for a successor. Torres may take the Brazilian’s spot on the bench and become an integral part of Conte’s future plans.
Since Barcelona is willing to negotiate a sale, they stand to gain the most money from the transfer. There will be a lot of interest from major teams in the player. But it remains to be seen whether any of them will offer a price that comes near to their value.
