Isco, a midfielder for Sevilla, will be a hot commodity next month. Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur will have to battle it out for his services
Fichajes claims that Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are both interested in signing Sevilla midfielder Isco in the next January transfer window.
After Julen Lopetegui was fired for failing to lead Sevilla into the knockout round of the Champions League, Jorge Sampaoli was brought in to take over the helm.
Isco was recently observed leaving Sevilla’s training facility following a confrontation with Sporting Director Monchi. The club’s administration is not likely to be able to get over the incident.
Will Arsenal or Tottenham get Isco?
Isco’s recent attitude change may be attributed to Sampaoli’s decision to bench him for Sevilla’s most recent friendly matches. The 30-year-old will meet with club officials, who are unlikely to approve of any kind of disciplinary action inside the locker room.
The former Madrid offensive midfielder is expected to be put on the transfer market. He will have no lack of admirers. Tottenham Hotspur presently lacks a player of Isco’s calibre. Antonio Conte would be overjoyed to add him to his squad.
Since Isco can play a variety of positions, the Italian manager will have more flexibility in his lineup. Although Arsenal already has a number of outstanding offensive midfielders, Mikel Arteta would welcome the opportunity to bring Isco to the Emirates Stadium.
Isco is versatile enough to play in a number of positions throughout the pitch, including deeper in midfield or on either wing. The Spanish forward still has a lot to prove. A switch to the Premier League may be exactly the ticket.
Isco Alarcon has once again garnered media attention, increasing speculation that Sevilla’s marquee summer acquisition could soon leave Andalusia.
It was revealed on Monday that Isco had a disagreement with Sporting Director Monchi, despite being a player Julen Lopetegui specifically asked for this summer. Isco’s admission to Monchi that he had only come because of the current management at Wolves did not help things. As a result, he decided to seek new opportunities elsewhere during the next winter transfer window.
What’s next for Isco?
It was reported on MD that Isco left Tuesday’s Sevilla training after just 10 minutes. His official ailment is with his ankle, although he seemed physically fine when he departed.
Sevilla’s new manager Jorge Sampaoli did not play him in either of the club’s two most recent exhibition games. His future with the club is unclear.
The previous six months have been a disaster for Sevilla’s squad management. Both Lopetegui and Sampaoli seeming to be underequipped for this season’s campaign. Although the team as a whole has problems, Monchi will have a tough time fixing them all and retooling the team with the resources they have available. Although Isco did not make many early-season contributions, he was one of their more consistent players when healthy.
