Given the lack of movement made by Roma toward a contract renewal, Arsenal is considering a low-cost summer transfer for Nicolo Zaniolo
Radio Radio claims that Arsenal is scheming a low-ball summer transfer for Nicolo Zaniolo. Talks between the club and the player over a new contract have stalled. Thus, raising questions about the player’s future at Roma.
The club’s attempts to negotiate a contract extension were a contributing factor in his decision to stay in Rome. His future has been the subject of conjecture, although it has been months since the club and player discussed a potential new deal.
Several English teams, including AC Milan and Juventus of Italy, are interested in acquiring Zaniolo from Roma. With his current contract set to expire in 2024, the 23-year-old Serie A midfielder will be open to offers this summer.
Will Nicolo Zaniolo move to Arsenal?
Any prospective transfer may have to wait until the summer, even if January may be the ideal time to acquire a value close to Roma’s €50 million asking price. At that point, Arsenal might reportedly submit an offer for €25 million to the Serie A club, to see how serious they are about negotiating.
It’s half of what the market now values the player in Roma at. So, it’s not even close. The player was in the eyeline of Tottenham throughout the summer. But now even Arsenal is keeping an eye on his position. Mikel Arteta is still enthusiastic about recruiting top players who are of the proper age and have the desired playing style.
What’s next in this move?
Due to their recent rise in popularity, the Gunners are now a desirable destination for elite players. They are now in first place in the Premier League and have shown good prospects for the future. As a result, Arteta and Edu Gaspar were able to win over the 23-year-old Serie A midfielder.
Two of Arsenal’s best players, Martin Odegaard and Fabio Vieira, play in the offensive midfield. The signing of Zaniolo is impressive because of his youth. In addition, there may be enough space in the roster next season for Arteta to bring in more quality reinforcements to increase the team’s overall depth for the long haul.
