Ivan Fresneda, a highly regarded fullback for Real Valladolid, is apparently being courted by Premier League clubs Arsenal and Newcastle United
Both Arsenal and Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Real Valladolid right defender Ivan Fresneda. Already, the incredibly skilled Spanish prodigy has made waves in the world of professional football. Also, it’s estimated that it will cost Valladolid about €30 million to release him.
It is widely thought that Arsenal is quite interested in the talented adolescent. However, they have a lot of players competing for spots at fullback. Ben White, who has been playing well as a substitute right back, has become Mikel Arteta’s first choice.
Arsenal’s manager has a lot of options to choose from, including White, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Cedric Soares, among others. Although White has been of great help, it is possible that his time there will prove pointless because of his better fit at central defense. Cedric, meanwhile, has been linked to Fulham.
Will Arsenal or Newcastle United get Ivan Fresneda
If a spot opens up, the Gunners would want to fill it before another team can poach the player. However, the recent successes of Newcastle United have given them renewed optimism. They are now competing well against teams like Manchester City and Arsenal.
With the victory against Leicester City, they strengthened their grip on a playoff spot. Even so, Eddie Howe is looking to use the next transfer window to assist solidify their optimism. There has been widespread speculation that Newcastle United is really interested in the teenage defender. Thus adding to the long list of players the club has been associated with in the past.
The right-back position is deep, but the team still wants additional depth heading into the season. And Fresneda, a Spanish child genius, has become a leading candidate. To sign the 18-year-old, Arsenal and Newcastle will have to shell out €30 million.
They seem to disagree with his €30 million price tag and are prepared to give far less for his services. Whether or whether the two teams engaged in a transfer war in January is still out in the air.
Cedric Soares’ future:
Cedric Soares, a defender for Arsenal, is said to be the subject of an official bid from Fulham in the near future. The west London club will want to add a right-back during the next January transfer window, and Cedric is their first choice. A loan with a buyout provision and a more long-term partnership are both on the table.
Fulham boss Marco Silva has had his eye on Cedric for a while after working with the defender in his former position at Sporting eight years ago. However, Fulham will have to fight off interest from Atletico Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen if they want to sign Cedric.
As for Cedric’s future, he has been contacted by agents from all three clubs, with Fulham leading the pack ahead of Arsenal.
