Wow! Barcelona Talisman Lionel Messi Finally Confirms His Wedding Date

It’s taken 10 years, but Leo Messi seems finally ready to seal the deal with his childhood sweetheart Antonella Roccuzzo. He’s got the career, the kids and the girl. The five Ballon D’ors don’t hurt as well. For everyone wondering what’s taken so long for him to put a ring on it, Messi finally confirmed the news, as per Spanish media reports.

The Barca talisman is all set to marry his childhood sweetheart Antonella Roccuzzo next summer, which would surely bring joy to the fans across the globe.

The highly awaited wedding is expected to take place in their native city of Rosario, back in Argentina, where they had met as kids through Lucas Scaglia, Antonella’s footballer cousin and a close friend of Messi.

City newspaper La Capital said it had confirmed the union with a relative of the footballer, who spoke with them and stated that, “It is true, there will be a wedding the middle of next year.”

Messi is expected to invite the entire Barca and Argentina squads to the big day, while a number of ex-team-mates will be in attendance too with the marriage believed to be on June 24, the Argentina captain’s 30th birthday.

The five-time Balon d’Or winner began dating Argentinian supermodel Antonella Roccuzzo in 2008 and she moved in with her heartthrob 2 years later. The couple has two children together Thiago and Mateo.

Messi is expected to return to Rosario around June 12 next year after completing a tour with his club. The entire Barcelona squad would be invited to the wedding, along with some ex-players, close friends and most of Argentina’s national squad.

The city cathedral is a possible venue for the wedding with the subsequent party expected to take place at the Messi family home in Arroyo Seco near Rosario overlooking the Parana River.
