Manchester United’s 2-1 win against Manchester City on Saturday, December 14th, helped solidify the club’s position in the Premier League’s top four. But recently, a player for Manchester United made a shocking remark about Cristiano Ronaldo and that is Bruno Fernandes.
With seven straight victories, Manchester United seems to be back on track. A huge confidence booster for the next season is their victory against championship rivals Manchester City. But the comment made by Manchester United player Bruno Fernandes after the game has everyone talking. Bruno Fernandes’s first goal was a game-winner for the Red Devils in the Manchester Derby.
Bruno Fernandes takes an indirect dig at Cristiano Ronaldo after Manchester United’s win against Manchester City
Both Fernandes and Ronaldo played together for Portugal and Manchester United. It comes as a shock, therefore, that Fernandes would say such things about Ronaldo. Especially considering the fact that he was a crucial part of the squad when he was a member of the club.
Nonetheless, it’s evident that Fernandes thinks Ronaldo’s departure has aided the team’s cohesion. and work together as a team, something that was absent early in the year. No matter what prompted Fernandes’ remarks, they will undoubtedly add an exciting new chapter to Manchester United’s tale.
United released Cristiano Ronaldo from his contract on November 22nd, 2022. This followed a series of scandals that the striker was involved in and a visibly worsening relationship between himself and the club’s administration.
It all began when the 37-year-old superstar’s goal drought came under scrutiny. Ronaldo then spoke with Piers Morgan thereafter. Where he gave a scathing critique of the club’s financial support for the squad. When Ronaldo took a swing at coach Erik ten Hag, it was the last straw.
What’s next for Cristiano Ronaldo?
The result of this was that the team decided to release the striker. So, what do you make of this? Were the club’s concerns justified in deciding to release Cristiano Ronaldo? At this very moment, Real Madrid is in Saudi Arabia, participating in the Spanish Super Cup. Cristiano Ronaldo, their former legendary striker, just signed with Saudi club Al-Nassr and paid a visit to his old colleagues.
Ronaldo played with Real Madrid for nine years. He became one of the all-time greats during that period. He won four Ballon d’Or awards while wearing the iconic white jersey and scored more goals than he played games.
Cristiano Ronaldo has yet to make his Al-Nassr debut. But he may get his chance to play for an all-star squad in Saudi Arabia against PSG on January 19. On January 15, Real Madrid and Barcelona will square off in the championship game of the Spanish Super Cup.
