While speaking to Marca90, Manuel Sierra said the midfielder was interested to join Arsenal. However, Brighton and Hove Albion refused to sell the 21-year-old prospect. When Arsenal approached Brighton for the midfielder, they made two bids in the first place. Nonetheless, the Gunners fell short of Brighton’s asking price, which is £90 million. Caicedo was firm and interested to act on an opportunity shortly, thinking that the golden opportunity might not come calling again.
“The offers were received and you see what is on the table and Moises says that he wants to go forward. That it is the dream of his whole life; a chance that may not be repeated,” added the agent.
Meanwhile, Caicedo also posted a statement on his official Twitter handle, thanking Brighton side for their support and wish to seal a switch to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal. In the end, the move didn’t materialize as Brighton did not sell him.
“We helped draft the statement. As per the statement, he expresses his wish and his gratitude to the club. They gave him the opportunity to fulfil his dream of playing in the EPL. We don’t know what will happen tomorrow. Maybe he trains and picks up an injury. We can’t know what’s going to happen. Brighton did not sell him.
