Arsenal Transfer News: Arsenal Football Club (AFC) are currently on top of the ongoing Premier League season. They have secured as many as 60 points from 25 games so far in the competition. The Gunners have dictated the terms on most parts of the season by chipping in with consistent performances week in and week out. Arsenal have won 19 games whereas they played out for a draw on three occasions. On the other hand, they lost three games.
Their three defeats came against the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Everton. However, the Gunners seems to have found their lost mojo back as they churned out another fruitful result in the recently-concluded encounter against Everton at The Emirates. The Gunners looked really clueless in the first 40 minutes before things went in their favour of them later on.
Arsenal went on to win the game by 4-0 and are five points above their rivals, Manchester City. The Gunners largely benefitted from the January transfer signings – Leandro Trossard and Jorginho. Both players have helped the team surge forward in the right direction. While Jorginho has operated as a defensive midfielder, Leandro Trossard has led the attack by example.
Meanwhile, in the latest development, it has been learnt that Arsenal will reportedly look to rope in Jack Wilshere in order to secure the signature of Declan Rice this summer. The former Arsenal midfielder, Wilshere is a close friend of the West Ham skipper. If things turn out well, then we could see Rice at the Emirates in the next season.
Arsenal Transfer News: Jack Wilshere to assist the Gunners secure £100m deal
As per Daily Mail, Arsenal team management chaired by Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar could turn to the Arsenal U-18 head coach to provide a great deal of assistance in an attempt to recruit the Hammers’ skipper Rice. For the record, Jack Wilshere played for West Ham during his short spell after leaving Arsenal in 2018.

With the £100m-rated England international looking set to part ways with West Ham, it could be a great opportunity for Arsenal to seal the deal. Moreover, Arsenal are now emerging as the favourite to sign the defensive midfielder. Apparently, Declan Rice wants to make a switch to the Gunners with an aim of playing in the UEFA Champions League next season.
The Gunners have 14 more games in hand in the Premier League and they still have plenty of work to do to win their fourth Premier League in their history. Besides that, they are also active in the Europa League competition. They will take on Portuguese club, FC Sporting in the first leg on March 9. Before that, Arsenal will play against Bournemouth in the Premier League at The Emirates on March 4, Saturday.
Earlier, when Declan Rice was asked if he felt Arsenal are capable of winning the Premier League this time around. To which, the West Ham player replied, “100 per cent. They are a top team in the league. You can see they are coached incredibly well, have a lot of attacking talent, a young squad and they can go the whole way for sure.”
