Arsenal Transfer News: Ever since joining Chelsea, Raheem Sterling hasn’t really produced a spark for them. The attacking midfielder failed to bring the best out of himself for quite a while now. From the outside, one can easily say that there is something really wrong with the body language. Sterling who once used to be a force to be reckoned with is currently lagging back in terms of confidence.
The England international isn’t the only one struggling to dictate the terms for Chelsea at the moment. The Blues have come under fire for their dismal performances as they hardly churned out positive results under Graham Potter. Chelsea Football Club are currently 10th on the points table with eight wins, seven draws and 9 defeats so far.
The 28-year-old attacking midfielder has made 18 appearances for Chelsea Football Club ever since he joined the club. He managed to score only four goals, which are really low considering a player of his calibre. On 13 July 2022, the experienced player signed for Chelsea from Manchester City on a five-year deal for £47.5 million.
The former Man City player made his debut for Chelsea in a 1–0 away win against the Toffees in August 2022. It is worth mentioning that he opened his account by scoring a brace in a 2–1 win over Leicester City on August 27, 2022. While his career at Chelsea did take off well, he is currently struggling to find ways to come out on top.
Arsenal Transfer News: AC Milan could join the race for Arsenal target in the summer transfer window
Raheem Sterling’s form factor in the ongoing season means that Chelsea could sell the attacking midfielder to another club in the summer transfer window. In fact, Arsenal are interested in signing the experienced player. For the record, Mikel Arteta once worked with Raheem Sterling at Man City. Now, both of them have landed at different clubs. Meanwhile, in the latest development, AC Milan could join the race for Arsenal target in the summer transfer window. The report further added that AC Milan wanted to sign Raheem Sterling before he parted ways with Manchester City to join Chelsea in the summer of 2022.
While Raheem Sterling doesn’t seem to be interested in leaving Chelsea, the defending Serie A champions could show a great deal of interest in the £350,000-a-week as per Salary Sport. Recently, 90min reported that the Gunners are very much interested in making a move for Raheem Sterling in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, Darren Bent, the former England striker echoed that even if Sterling lands up at Arsenal, he wouldn’t get into the playing XI.
“How does he walk into Arsenal who are top of the EPL? All the front 3 are playing well. Martinelli is Arsenal’s joint-top goalscorer. Looking at Raheem Sterling’s form this season, he doesn’t walk into Arsenal’s front-three, no way. The front three are flying. We’re not talking about a peak Sterling here. Arsenal’s forwards are flying. Sterling doesn’t make Arsenal stronger right now, Arsenal’s current front-three (Saka, Martinelli and Trossard) are playing better than Sterling.”
