Arsenal Transfer News: Arsenal Football Club do have a squad with all their bases covered right now. However, it is highly likely that they will turn to sign some players in the upcoming summer transfer window. Talking about their performances this season, they have been playing top-notch football for a long time now. The Gunners are sitting on top of the points table with 60 points from 25 games so far.
Arsenal have won 19 games whereas they lost three games and drew thrice this season. The table-toppers are five points ahead of the second-placed Manchester City. It is only going to get a lot tougher for the Gunners as the season progresses. At the same time, it is important to plan for the future.
Arsenal might as well sign some fresh legs in the transfer window. If reports doing the rounds are to be believed, then the Gunners are looking to sign Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia. He is only 19 years old and has already played 20 times across all competitions for the Saints.
The talented prospect joined Southampton last summer for £14 million. He has already impressed Premier League giants with his imperious performances so far. The likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in the Belgium U21 star. It remains to be seen what the future holds in store for the youngster who will surely be making a move to one of the biggest clubs in the world in the future.
Arsenal Transfer News: Arsenal reportedly considering a move to sign Romeo Lavia
According to The Mail, Arsenal are tracking the Saints’ midfielder who has played only two senior games for Manchester City. Former Manchester United player, Paul Scholes doesn’t really understand why Man City let the talented teenager leave the club in the first place. The Manchester United legend said he was taken aback when Man City released him.
According to the former Man United midfielder, Romeo Lavia is a player with a truckload of potential. He further added that Romeo has all the tools and ingredients to go back to Manchester City in the future.

“I was surprised when City let him go I think he is good enough potentially. He is only 18 years old maybe hold him back a bit. He is a player with so much potential and he could potentially go back, but he has settled in so well. Lavia has got a pass in his locker and he is big and strong and likes to defend. Romeo does not want to get forward too much and sits in front of the back four and sets the play in motion from there,” Scholes said earlier this season.
Meanwhile, Arsenal will lock horns with Bournemouth in the upcoming Premier League match on March 4, Saturday at The Emirates. The Gunners will be looking forward to securing the three points. After that, they will lock horns with Sporting in the first leg of the Round of 16 of the Europa League. If Arsenal go on to win the Premier League, then they will become the first youngest team to achieve the feat.
