Champions League Song

What does the Champions League song mean!? Champions League nights are a spectacle in their own right. The competition where there is only room for the best, and second best is just not enough. This is a tournament only reserved for the top table of European football and the quality of the game justifies it to full effect. Matches are won and lost. Heroes are born!! With memories made in heaven!! And there is no beating that!!

The games are punctuated by some of the greatest footballing names mixed with some punchy underdogs who fight their way to continue living the life of a European superpower. All in all, the Champions league is an extravaganza which only increases the appetite for its repetition which makes it all the more special.

Fans wait eagerly for months to watch these games. And though the group stages are just the start, the knockout stages are the icing on the cake. Endless excitement merged with twists and turns.

What Does The Champions League Song/Anthem Actually Mean!?

However, nothing beats the appeal of Europe’s biggest club competition than the magnificent anthem that reverberates across stadiums in Europe before the start of kickoff. The high notes, the seductive addiction of those musical instruments blending into one cacophony of melodies which transport fans and players alike to an entirely new realm of fulfilment.

That anthem is a sign that you have made it, and that you are officially part of the big boys, rubbing shoulders with the elite of the elite. However, not many people know the significance of the anthem or what exactly does the anthem imply in its translation.
The anthem was written by Englishman Tony Britten in 1992. The inspiration was loosely based from “Zadok the Priest” which traditionally performed at coronation of the British monarchs. The anthem is written in the three principal languages of UEFA: English, French and German. The anthem literally translates to “These are the best teams. The main event. The Master. The Best. The Great teams. The Champions”.  Something that sounds so grandiose yet so simple in its message.

The Current Status Of The Tournament And What To Expect In The Days To Come!?

This season’s Champions League is in its business end. The quarterfinals will be in the first week of April. The likes of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Man City are considered to be favorites. While underdogs Napoli are also in the mix to win the coveted big ears trophy come the final.
In England, the race to participate in the competition sees Arsenal leading. And it seems that they can finally end their long awaited drought of Champions league appearances next season. Even Manchester United could more or less secure their place in the tournament if they don’t mess up from here.
Things can get quite interesting towards the final match-days of both competitions. Either way, both competitions are really prestigious and the winners will deserve it. For now, let’s relax, sit back and focus on the music. The beautiful track that is music to the ears of every European football fan.
Now that you know what the Champions League anthem stands for, enjoy it even more!! Cheers!!
