Arsenal Newsnow: Arsenal, hoping to capitalize on a probable Premier League title triumph, is expected to compete with three other clubs this summer for the services of one of the emerging stars in Germany’s Bundesliga. As the March international break concludes, all eyes will be back on the Premier League, where Arsenal and Manchester City will play 10 “cup finals” between April 1 and May 28.
Mikel Arteta and Edu probably already have a clear notion of who they will be chasing in the summer of 2023. It is regardless of whether or not Arsenal wins a trophy in the 2022/23 season. According to football.london’s sources, the club’s first goal is signing a talented midfielder and has identified West Ham player Declan Rice as their top target. [ Arsenal Newsnow ]
Arsenal is well-loaded in quality and depth following a good January transfer window. Therefore it is not quite evident which areas sorely require improvement. Leandro Trossard and Jorginho were signed by the league leaders. It was after they missed out on Mykhailo Mudryk and Moises Caicedo. Despite making repeated bids for both players, the deals failed to happen.
Yet, it seems that both of these transactions have been fruitful. Trossard has fit in well. While Jorginho was an important addition when he was called upon to step in for Thomas Partey on many occasions due to injury. Edu will be looking to replicate his transfer success this summer. Eintracht Frankfurt star Jesper Lindstrom is a guy who may greatly assist the Brazilian in doing so. [ Arsenal Newsnow ]
Arsenal Newsnow: What’s the matter?
The Gunners have been linked with the 23-year-old versatile midfielder off and on in recent months. But a fresh claim from Patrick Berger on SPORT1 reveals that the Gunners are among four Premier League teams actively pursuing Lindstrom’s transfer. According to the source, Frankfurt is doomed to lose Lindstrom. The player might be available for €30 million this summer (26.3m).
Lindstrom has been used mostly in an attacking midfield position for the majority of the Bundesliga matches he has been in this season (22). He has contributed seven goals and four assists. While Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard now performs that position, Arteta believes that healthy competition for playing time at Emirates Stadium is a good thing. [ Arsenal Newsnow ]

Will Arteta and Edu get him?
The Norwegian international has consistently offered a creative spark this season. Despite that, Arsenal’s fortunes have suffered when he has not been at his best. Arsenal were unable to muster much of an offensive threat in their loss to Everton. But a bright alternative like Lindstrom off the bench would have made all the difference.
Arteta probably expected Fabio Vieira, who he paid £34m to acquire from Porto last summer, to have such an effect. However, that has clearly not been the case. The 22-year-old has had difficulty getting regular playing time. He has not made the most of his opportunities when he has been given them. [ Arsenal Newsnow ]
