In the current season’s winter transfer window, Felix made a loan move to the Blues. After failing to make an impact at his home club, the Portugal international chose to go on loan. But thus far, things haven’t gone as well as expected.

Under Diego Simeone, the 23-year-old was no longer a starter. The manager’s and player’s strained relationship was worsening. So they loaned him to another team. But before signing with the Blues, Felix extended his contract with the Spanish team. His current deal with the Madrid club keeps him there until the following summer.

The club hoped to make some money off of Felix by having him have a successful loan stint with the London team. But it seems like their strategy backfired on them. They were hoping to get around €100 million in funding.

It seems, though, that they will have to settle for a lesser price than that. It’s safe to assume that the Blues will not be actively pursuing a permanent contract with him. His future will be decided by his parent club, which is likely to be in the summer when he returns.
