Arsenal Transfer News: Do Arsenal Want 'To Sign Devyne Rensch From Ajax?' - An Update Is Provided

Arsenal Transfer News: Foot Mercato reports that Arsenal is seriously considering adding Devyne Rensch to their roster for the next season. The 20-year-old’s incredible play this season has garnered him a lot of praise. There has been a lot of competition for the Ajax defender from teams all across Europe.

In the summer of 2016, Rensch enrolled in the Ajax youth program. His rise through the ranks to the club’s first squad has been meteoric. In 2020, the rookie got called up to the major league squad. In actuality, though, this season has been the full-back’s breakout year.

There have been 87 games in which the Dutch international has played for Ajax, and he has contributed 12 goals. The Ajax right-back has played in 31 games so far this season, contributing with three goals and an assist.

While the Dutch club has struggled this season, the 20-year-old has delivered some outstanding displays. And because of it, several English teams have shown interest.

Meanwhile, Arsenal is one of several teams interested in signing the Ajax fullback. The Gunners have excelled this season. They now sit atop the Premier League table. That means they’ll be back in the UEFA Champions League the following year.

Mikel Arteta believes Arsenal can improve in a few important areas, despite the team’s many accomplishments. The Spanish coach is looking to strengthen his team by signing a new right fullback. Right-back duties have been well covered by Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu. But Arteta thinks the team needs a fullback who can contribute more offensively.

Reality sank in for Arsenal last week when Manchester City’s Erling Haaland scored a crashing goal off an assist from second-half replacement Phil Foden. The Gunners had dominated the Premier League for practically the entire 2022–23 season until being crushed by their championship rivals at Etihad Stadium with just under a month left in the season.

A snapshot of preseason Premier League predictions from BBC commentators shows that many people didn’t even think Arsenal was in the running for one of the top four spots. Mikel Arteta’s squad has already clinched a berth in the Champions League for next season. They still have five games to play.
