The summer of 2021 saw the €39 million transfer of the Dutch international from Ajax Amsterdam to Old Trafford. Van de Beek has had little success at Old Trafford despite scoring on his United debut. He was loaned out to Premier League rivals Everton for the 2021–22 season, but his fortunes did not improve.

The addition of Erik ten Hag seemed to bode well for the midfielder’s revival. His season was cut short by a knee injury. He didn’t make the Netherlands’ 2022 FIFA World Cup roster.

The 26-year-old may be ready for a fresh challenge since he has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford. Inter Milan is willing to make an offer for him to go. They may try to sign him in the summer.
