Antonia Conte wanted to sign pacey winger Jonathan Biabiany in the January transfer window, claims the wingers agent. The former Italy manager wanted to bring Jonathan to Stamford Bridge last month but were a bit late as they did not have time to finalise the deal as transfer window was shut for the season.
The Blues hold a keen interest in the 28 year old Frenchman and Antonio Conte is a huge admire of his game.
Jonathan’s agent has even confirmed about the Blues’ interest in the player. He stated in his recent interview, “Yes, I can confirm that. Conte wanted him and personally spoke to him to persuade a move to Chelsea.”
“Chelsea’s offer, However was late. They called us on Sunday night and the transfer window was closing two days later. There was no time to finalise the deal. ”
A few news outlets have reported that Conte wanted to bring the 28 year old on a short term loan only, But the winger however wanted a permanent switch and not a mere loan spell the reason why the deal might have not taken place?
The Frenchman has not got a single minute of playtime for 19 matches continuously, though he has been named in match-day squad.
Although the Chinese transfer window is still open for him if he fancies a move there and what will be his fate, is still not certain at the moment. Only time will tell.
