West Ham Want Manchester United’s Defensive Superstar, Though Jose Mourinho Could Have Other Plans

Jose Mourinho

report has now suggested that London outfit West Ham United are interested in signing Manchester United superstar Luke Shaw. The 21 year old English left-back has found it quite tough to get any game-time under new boss Jose Mourinho and is trying his best to impress the Portuguese main-man. Shaw was unable to feature in the league for a lengthy period due to a groin injury that he suffered back in October.

It is not the first time that an injury has really put breaks on his progress and though he has been available for the past few weeks, he has failed to retain his place in Mourinho’s main squad.

The ex-Southampton man is still considered one of the best left-backs in the world at present, though these constant problems with his fitness, have made it very difficult to re-gain a first-team place.

It’s high time now that Shaw starts considering his options, as Mourinho had earlier called him a fourth-choice left-back, which would have hurt his confidence.

It would be a real shame for the Red Devils to waste such a young talent, who was purchased by them for £30m back in 2014, making him the world’s most expensive teenager.

The Hammers are trying to resolve their own issues and are in dire need of a replacement for Aaron Cresswell, who is having a torrid season at the left-back position.

The defender, 27, is struggling to satisfy the aspirations and ambitions of the fans at the club, who want him to improve on his performances, after a decent previous season.

Shaw could be the answer to West Ham’s problems, as they look to progress quickly and want to participate in the European competitions next season. Leaving Old Trafford and making the move to the new London Stadium could do wonders for a player who thrives on confidence in himself and his ability.

Further, Mourinho’s recent comments have suggested that Shaw does have potential and can earn a regular place in the starting eleven, if he wishes to fight for it.

It will surely not be easy, but if he can make use of his chances and perform in the same fashion as he did, prior to his injuries, he could be back in the first team, more often than not.
