Arsenal Is Set To Sell Their First Team Defender In The Summer Transfer Window

Arsenal are reportedly willing to part ways with Rob Holding, as reported by Football Insider. This 27-year-old central defender may be on the move this summer as the team looks to bolster its defence for the next season.

Before joining Arsenal, Holding worked his way up through the ranks at Bolton Wanderers. In the summer of 2016, the Gunners paid £2 million to secure the services of the 27-year-old. He used to be a key cog in their first team machine. However, he’s fallen out of favour recently. Before William Saliba got injured in March, the former Bolton central defender only played for 17 minutes in the league.

After returning from his injury, the 27-year-old started six consecutive games as the centre back and played the full 90 minutes in each. So far, Holding has played in 24 games and scored twice. He has accumulated 1,397 minutes of playing time.

In the forthcoming transfer window, Arsenal is expected to part ways with Rob Holding, a 27-year-old central defender

Although he is under contract with the team until the summer of 2024, he is likely to leave in the forthcoming transfer window. The Gunners are focusing on signing a new midfielder before the transfer market opens. The Gunners’ attention will next turn to acquiring a new back-line player once this is completed.

Mikel Arteta really wants White to play centre-back for the team. Therefore, it’s likely that Holding will be departing the club soon

The team’s first priority is to get a replacement right fullback. So, Ben White can return to his starting position at centre-back. The summer is when they plan to make their move for Devyne Rensch of Ajax. Ben White might play a more crucial part for the Gunners if a new right-back is brought in. And the team is planning to try to cut ties with Rob Holding.

Mikel Arteta really wants White to play centre-back for the team. Therefore, it’s likely that Holding will be departing the club soon. Arsenal has come close to winning the league this season. However, they have ultimately fallen short. They want to improve their roster so they can compete for the Premier League championship again next year. Even if they want to add new players, some of the current ones will likely be traded away. According to the rumours, the 27-year-old might be traded away from the club.

Chelsea are reportedly willing to pay €80 million for Dusan Vlahovic, as reported by Fichajes. According to reports, the 23-year-old forward has become dissatisfied with his situation at Juventus and is eager to further his career elsewhere. There are a number of teams interested in the Serbian striker, including the Blues, and trade seems to be soon.

Even though Chelsea has spent over €600 million on new players in the last two transfer windows, they still have numerous major voids in their roster. It seems like the season will end poorly for the Stamford Bridge club. They will likely end up in the middle of the table.
