It will be a good news for the Manchester United fans, as according to the recent reports coming from Marca, the champions of Europe, Real Madrid have let go of their interest for their No 1 goalkeeper David De Gea. News were there that the Spanish Champions were looking to seal the deal within this week but the big £65m price tag for the goalkeeper is the reason which is making the European Champions to leave the deal.
There might be another reason for this as the Madrid side is looking to bring in the French talent Kylian Mbappe from AS Monaco, who has been priced at about £120m.
The great form of Keylor Navas makes the Spanish side comfortable as they do not want to replace him but Florentino Perez’s great affinity for the Spanish No 1 was the reason for this transfer.
This news will be great for Jose Mourinho’s side as they will not have to look for De Gea’s replacement in which Kasper Schmeichel and Jan Oblak are already linked.
If we talk about Madrid’s point of view, the European Champions do not require the services of De Gea with Keylor Navas on goal.
The way Navas has played this season is commendable and De Gea is can not exactly said to be an upgrade of the Costa Rican international, though he has looked more stronger at goal, at times.
However, the Spanish side are still looking to improve their defence, which has not been that good this season.
The back-line has been put to sword for many number of times this term already, though Navas has been up to the mark, as and when needed.
