After days of speculation, it has now been confirmed that Manchester United are on the verge of completing the signing of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid. A report by Onda Cero suggests that a €73m(£64.1m) deal has been agreed to, between Los Blancos and the Red Devils, which will see the Spaniard move to Old Trafford in the days to come.
The 24-year-old superstar will be arriving in England, after representing his national side in their World Cup qualifying match against Macedonia on Sunday.
Once the deal goes through, the former Juventus star will become Jose Mourinho’s first signing of the current transfer window, as he looks to build on last season’s success.
His addition to the Portuguese manager’s side could be a huge boost for the Manchester based team, who are surely keen to add more fire-power to their attack up front.
United managed to win three silverware, in the campaign that just recently ended and will be back in the Champions League once again, next term.
Due to this, the management and coach would have been really keen on signing more stars, in the summer transfer window, so that his side can perform better, once the new season starts.
With the Griezmann deal not going through, the attacker was the next best choice for the Premier League giants, who recently released veteran star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
It will be interesting to see how well Morata can perform in the top flight of English football, which has not always been kind to Spanish strikers, over the years.
