Manchester United Favourites To Sign Barcelona’s Defensive Target, As Mourinho Looks For More Titles

Contradicting Jose Mourinho’s usual style of playing football, the Portuguese manager likes to go all attack in the transfer market at least. The ex Chelsea and Real Madrid has not lost any love for Barcelona, whom he shared a fierce rivalry with, during his time back in Spain, as the manager of Los Blancos.

Since his departure from Madrid, he has tasted a bit of success and failure, both in England and will now want to leave his mark at Manchester United.

With that said and done, the Portuguese coach will want to keep winning titles, after securing three pieces of silverware, in the season that just went by.

For this purpose, a top player who has been under his radar is Brazilian international Marquinhos, who is currently with former Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.

The defender has been wanted by a host of clubs in recent times and it seems that the Red Devils are now one of them once again, with Mourinho looking eager to get a deal done.

Further, a report suggests that, the Premier League giants have already beaten their fierce European rivals Barca, in this race and should acquire their target soon.

The story suggests that the Manchester based side are 2/1 favourites with bookmakers Ladbrokes, to add the defensive superstar to their current squad, this summer.

This will come as a positive sign for Mourinho and his team, who are looking to add more quality at the back, after a rather successful season.

Marquinhos is a top player, who can add a lot to their current and is just 23. Due to this Barca wanted him as well, to resolve their issues at the back.

If the English outfit win this race, it will surely be a huge boost for them and the fans would love to see the PSG star play at The Theatre of Dreams.
