The future of Donny van de Beek at Manchester United is in doubt with rumours of a move circulating this summer. The midfielder is falling out of favour at Old Trafford. That has piqued the interest of Turkish clubs.
Since Van de Beek’s stock has fallen at Manchester United, the club is aggressively trying to get rid of him. Apparently the Red Devils are desperate to unload their £40 million purchase before the end of the summer transfer season, as reported by Give Me Sport.
Explaining the issue to GMS, Ben Jacobs said, “Donny van de Beek is clearly not in Erik ten Hag’s plans, and time is running out in various windows.” Manchester United needs a quick answer as time is running out. As much as the club would want to get rid of him, doing so has been difficult.
Despite some queries coming from Saudi Arabia, interest in van de Beek has come mostly from Turkey. A transfer agreement for the midfielder must be finalised quickly. Thus putting Manchester United in a race against time.
Jacobs said, “They may have to compromise on pricing and contemplate a financing contract with an option or responsibility to make it work. Van de Beek has been a difficult conundrum for Manchester United to solve, but a late trade is still possible.
Premier League teams are unable to sign new players until the end of the month, although clubs from other leagues may still make signings. Van de Beek has been unable to win a starting berth at Manchester United. Thus the club is looking to offer him a permanent home.
Manchester United set to sell Donny van de Beek
Back when he was playing for Ajax, Van de Beek was considered a great potential. He cost Manchester United £40 million to acquire. But his loan stint at Everton has not gone well.
It would be best for the player and the club to start again somewhere else than Old Trafford in the hopes of recouping some of their investment. Van de Beek’s desire to leave Manchester United was amplified by the club’s summer purchase of Mason Mount, who immediately pushed van de Beek lower down the pecking order.
As the transfer market closing date approaches, speculation over van de Beek’s future continues to pique fans’ interests
Now 26 years old, van de Beek’s career can only advance with consistent playing time. He’s got the technical chops to be a star. A move this summer may be just what his career needs to get back on track.
Clubs in Turkey might be van de Beek’s ticket out of the country in the near future. Manchester United has to put in a deliberate effort to cut their losses on the player as little as possible so that they can move on.
