Opinion: If Raya And Ramsdale Aren’t Good Enough; Arsenal Should Target This Goalie!?

Saudi Pro League Wants This Arsenal Star In January

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has been looking to find the right goalie, who will give stability to this Arsenal team. A keeper that can not just stop shots, but play out from the back as well. Though Arteta has managed to work with 5 goalkeepers already since his arrival at the club, things are still not certain at the back.

This has been a huge problem at times, with the form fluctuating depending on the goalie. Though one player doesn’t always decide the fate of a game, a keeper’s role is crucial. And it is not one that can be ignored.

Consider a goalie as a DRUMMER in a BAND. If he does everything right and keeps things subtle, no one has a real issue with his performance. But if he goes haywire and makes that one significant error, everyone loses their mind. The tune goes totally off the grid and the song is ruined. So, it is that important.

Why Is This Such A Major Issue For Arsenal!?

We at Beyond The Posts had put out 3 Tweets to explain why this is such a major issue. It is one that needs to be taken care of and fast; if we wish to remain in the Champions League for the years to come. And so, a solution needs to be found and soon!!

What Can Be One Solution To This Whole Goalkeeping Fiasco For The Gunners!?

Chelsea wanted to sign Aaron Ramsdale for a fee of £50m, as they look to resolve their goalkeeping issues. They were also linked with another goalie. But, the way that things are going at present, Mikel Arteta has not helped Ramsdale’s confidence. So, if he does not believe in the Englishman, a sale could be on the cards. That is if David Raya can step up and claim the number-one goalkeeping spot for good.

In that case, it will be a good choice to push through the sale and take the money. Then, the next step would be to sign another good goalie, who can either compete with Raya or displace him as the first-choice.

One target that the Gunners’ boss can consider is Spanish no. 1, Unai Simon. The goalie was wanted by Chelsea too, though it is still not clear if he will move to the Premier League. However, if one manager can change his mind on that, it’s Arteta. And if the Blues sign Ramsdale, they won’t want Simon.

His compatriot could be the long-term solution to Arsenal and Arteta’s problems. His value is between €17.7M and €29.4M. So, Arsenal could also save some money from the Ramsdale deal, they do buy him. Also, he will like to work with Mikel and his back-room staff, who are good at helping players settle in.

So, it could be the best thing that could happen for Arsenal. Let’s see if they go for this option!!
