Manchester United Fans Urge Mourinho To Pay Star ‘Whatever He Wants’ To Keep Him At Old Trafford

Keep him at the club, Mourinho-
Manchester United fans want their club to pay Herrera ‘whatever he wants’ to keep him at the club. The Spanish midfielder joined the Red Devils in 2014, as he was signed by Louis Van Gaal and has become fan favorite at Old Trafford, with even the fans demanding the owners of the club to do whatever they can to make him stay.
The 27 year old has been instrumental in keeping Manchester United’s midfield ticking and the club is reportedly preparing a lucrative deal for their star man.
Herrera’s performances have drawn attention from top clubs across Europe like Barcelona and Real Madrid, and there are a lot of United faithful that are afraid that they may not be able to keep tie him down if he does not receive a better deal.
Herrera has just one year left on his United contract, which has sparked the interest from the Spanish giants but United are in the process of offering him a deal for four years which makes him earn a massive £200,000-per-week, making him one of the highest paid stars at the club.
After being out-placed by Van Gaal, he has found his place in Mourinho’s first team, becoming one of the manager’s favorite players.
With his passion, determination and aggression that he shows on the pitch, he plays a vital role in lifting the team on a whole, tightening up the passes in the attacking midfield position.
Being extremely consistent, he has drawn comparisons to former United legend Paul Scholes, his work ethic and skill have been a massive outlet for the side.
He helped winning the Europa League and League Cup holding the midfield together and keeping the attacking moves flowing.
Herrera began his career at Real Zaragoza and then joined Athletic Bilbao in 2011 before completing a £36m move to United.
With reports coming out of him not being happy at United, Mourinho and the United fans will do anything to make sure that their starlet continues playing for them.
After the departure of Rooney and arrival of Lukaku, they need someone who could play those precise passes in the attacking third of the field.
Therefore it is essential that United keep hold of a player like the Spaniard, who can be an asset and performs well when the team is under pressure.
What next?
The fans have made it clear that they want Herrera to stay at The Theatre of Dreams for the upcoming seasons, as they see him as “United material”, though he is injured at present and the extent of his injury is not known yet.
This would surely be a hint for the Portuguese manager and the club to retain his services, as he does possess the quality to be part of the squad and surely has a few years of football left in him.
His is 27 and adds more value to the side, which makes him an asset and might gel well with the new signings that have come in, if a deal can be negotiated.
