Will Arsenal Be Able To Sign Rodrygo?

Recent reports revealed that Arsenal were showing considerable amount of interest to sign the Real Madrid winger Rodrygo. There are strong rumours that Kylian Mbappe will move toReal Madrid this summer on a free transfer. So, with the arrival of Kylian Mbappe and the presence of Vinicius Junior, Rodryogo’s playing time will reduce considerably. Hence, Rodrygo will want a new club to continue getting his regular playing time. In fact, the Los Blancos are also prepared to offload him in the summer transfer window of 2024. Hence, the Gunners were planning to make a bog move for him in the summer.

Now, reputed journalist Dean Jones says that Arsenal wants Rodryogo. However, they dont have the financial capacity to but the star winger in this summer transfer window. Rodrygo has considerably grown his playing. He has been a vital cog for the Real Madrid side. He has scored vital goals for the club in the champions League when they desperately needed one. He has a contract with Real Madrid till the summer of 2028. In this season as well, he has been in sensational form with 21 goal contributions. Moreover, the Real Madrid fans and the team value him greatly for the services that he has given to his club. He is definitely a fan favourite of the Spanish capital side.

Arsenal wants to sign Rodrygo

Meanwhile, Arsenal are in search of an attacking winger. They do have Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. However, the club desperately needs a world class backup who can complement them from strength to strength. Arteta and Edu feels that Rodrygo will be the best suited for that position. However, the Real Madrid side wants £85m to sell their prized asset. Moreover, Arsenal will also need to offer a weekly salary of more than £200,000 to Rodrygo. Dean Jones reports that Arsenal don’t have the financial capacity to meet this demands. Hence the move is very unlikely to go through.

Will the move go through?

Also, it will be very tough to convince Rodrygo to leave his dream club. He loves Los Blancos and will not want to leave such a successful club and relocate to England. So, the deal looks very unlikely to happen in the summer.

Meanwhile, Rodrygo talked about his life and career.  He said: “I have to say to myself sometimes: ‘My God, I’ve won the Champions League! It’s still hard to believe that I’ve won it. It was always one of my biggest dreams: playing for Real Madrid and winning the Champions League. I’ve managed to already do it at the age of 21. It’s difficult to digest the fact that I’ve actually managed to do it. I’ve not only won the Champions League, I’ve won LaLiga twice and the Spanish Super Cup twice. I don’t think it could have been any better. Playing under pressure is more fun. It’s no fun to play with nothing at stake, especially when we’re talking about competitive sports. Having that pressure is a good thing”
