Arsenal Told To Sign The German Midfielder To Strengthen The team

Arsenal has been presented with an anticipating proposal to strengthen their midfield dynamics by acquiring the services of Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka. Francis Jeffers, a former Arsenal striker, is in favor of this move. He believes that Goretzka has the potential to play a similar role to Rodri, which would allow Declan Rice more freedom in attack. According to Jeffers, Goretzka joining Arsenal’s midfield could bring a new dynamic to the team. It will also potentially enhance the performance of Rice.

Speaking to Ladbrokes Fanzone, Jeffers emphasizes the importance of expanding Rice’s role in influencing games, instead of limiting him to just the number six position. After witnessing Goretzka’s impressive performance at the Emirates Stadium, Jeffers can’t help but imagine a strong midfield trio consisting of Goretzka, Rice, and Martin Odegaard. He highlights the importance of Arsenal bolstering this particular aspect of the team, given the challenges posed by Thomas Partey’s injury troubles and the uncertainties surrounding his future under Mikel Arteta’s leadership.

Jeffers compares Goretzka’s skills to those of players such as Rodri from Manchester City, highlighting their strong physical presence that can intimidate their opponents. He believes that Arsenal should adopt similar qualities in their midfield lineup to improve their competitiveness, especially when facing tough opponents like Bayern Munich and Manchester City.

Arsenal has been considering various midfield options lately, such as Martin Zubimendi, Douglas Luiz, and Amadou Onana. However, Goretzka stands out as a strong candidate to bring a new dynamic to the midfield at the Emirates Stadium. If he were to join, it could lead to a change in tactics that resembles Odegaard’s position, which could help Rice unleash his attacking abilities.

Players like Rodri have proven to be game-changers for teams like Manchester City. Arsenal could greatly benefit from having a similar influential figure to help elevate their performance. Signing a player like Goretzka could be a huge win for the club, possibly taking them to new levels and making them more competitive in top-tier competitions.

What did he say?

He said: “For me, looking at them right now, Declan Rice is better when he’s allowed to go and impact the game; not just sitting in that number six role, so having watched someone like Leon Goretzka playing at the Emirates earlier this week, I can’t help but think that someone like him, a beast of a number six – with Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard ahead of him – would be a great addition to the squad.

That’s the area where I think they could potentially look to strengthen. Obviously Thomas Partey has had a lot of injuries in the last year or so and has just been out for five months, so I don’t know what Mikel Arteta will be thinking about when it comes to him, whether or not he moves him on.

Jorginho is one of those players who does read the game really well, but in terms of physicality, I just think that in that area of the pitch, you look at the likes of Bayern on Tuesday, and you look at Manchester City… Goretzka, Rodri… these are the type of players who really strike fear into opponents when they’re lining up in the tunnel.”
