Recent reports have suggested that Tottenham Hotspurs’ ace midfielder Dele Alli is in the process of changing his current agent, which has alerted the top clubs across Europe for a potential move away from the side that finished 2nd in the league last year. The England international is now looking to replace his long-time agent Rob Segal and inevitably a new agent would want a better deal for his new client. This suggests that Manchester United, Chelsea and even Champions of Europe Real Madrid are put on high alert on the wonder-kid.
Alli has been in outstanding form over the past few seasons for Tottenham and last term, the 21 year old made 37 appearances scoring 18 times and he also notched up 7 assists.
Along with a feisty personality, Alli showcases some class with the ball at his feet as well. His silky passing and dribbling skills are very eye-catching and effective. He arrived at White Hart Lane from MK Dons for a fee of just £5m.
However, it is reported that Alli is currently unhappy with the wages he receives at Tottenham and is demanding an excess of £100,000 a week. Alli is currently on a £60,000 a week deal which is way below his market value. Manchester United superstar midfielder Paul Pogba reportedly pays the same amount as tax.
Alli is looking to fit into the same wage bracket as team-mates Hugo Lloris and Harry Kane, the top earners at the club on a £110,000 a week contract. And if the North London club refuses to look into the demands of their rising star, it could force an exit with many top clubs ready to swoop up the attacking midfielder.
Local London rivals Chelsea are extremely keen on Alli as they look to strengthen their midfield department to bolster a chance of defending their Premier League title. However, with Real Madrid lurking, the Spanish giants may win the race to sign the sensational Tottenham man, as they did so with Luka Modric and Gareth Bale before.
Which Team Needs Him More?
Though both teams will want to have him in their squad, it seems that the Blues will need his services more than the Red Devils. Mourinho’s team has started off with 8 goals in 2 games, which means that they have found the right combination, more or less and the Portuguese main-man will not want to mess with it.
This would surely mean that it is Conte and his team, who should be more eager to add him to their current squad at the Bridge. Whether that actually happens or not, is another thing, though it would surely be something to keep a watch for.
With every day that passes by, the deadline day draws nearer and it will be in the best interest of the managers to sign as many high quality stars as possible, before the end of this month.
