Originating from Montevideo, he started his career with CA Bella Vista and CA Progreso before joining Liverpool FC Montevideo in January of 2023. He has improved greatly since moving and is now a prominent player for his old team.

As the summer transfer window draws near, van den Berg’s future at Liverpool is still unknown. Since Liverpool is looking for a new center-back and has shown interest in Antonio Silva, van den Berg is unlikely to start. Interest in van den Berg is not, however, in short supply.
