This summer Arsenal wants to bring in a striker. Although there have been reports regarding Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan, Gunners analyst Charles Watts doesn’t seem to be that enthused. Watts recently contributed his opinions to the Daily Briefing.
Martinez appeals to Watts, but he hasn’t heard anything concrete on Arsenal’s interest. Martinez has already been mentioned in connection with the Emirates Stadium. Watts hasn’t thought the stories to be true even though his name has been mentioned in the media several times.
Martinez joining Arsenal sounds intriguing. Top talent, and Arsenal needs a powerful striker. Watts is still dubious about the rumours, however. It seems more plausible to him that Arsenal will consider Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig.
Journalist Offers Update On Lautaro Martinez To Arsenal
Watts spoke about Martinez and the striker ambitions of Arsenal. “Lautaro Martinez’s name has been associated with Arsenal for a number of years, but it never seemed like the connections had any real weight,” he remarked. Though Arsenal needs a top-notch attacker, he has never really been brought up to me as a realistic target.
Martinez has skill, Watts concedes. A player needs to be exceptional to achieve the heights Martinez has at Inter Milan. Watts would be shocked, however, if these Arsenal connections materialized. Though Watts believes a youthful star is more likely to be signed by Arsenal this summer than a well-known figure like Martinez, the team does desire an attacker.
More Updates:
Martinez is unquestionably a good player, Watts said. Without anything unique about you, you never reach the heights he has with Inter Milan. It would surprise me, however, if these occasional connections to Arsenal ever really come to pass. This summer Arsenal wants to add a forward. About it, there is little question. However, from what I understand of the circumstances, any fresh arrival is more likely to be a possible signing than Martinez.
Watts does not mean a rookie or inexperienced athlete when he speaks about potential. Arsenal, in his opinion, will seek for a forward similar to Sesko. Sesko might have an instantaneous effect even while he is still growing.
“I don’t mean an 18-year-old player with no real experience in a top league when I say potential,” Watts said. “I mean a forward more along the lines of a Benjamin Sesko who, while being a work in progress, still looks ready to come in and make a big impact in the squad straight away.”
Although Martinez’s name intrigues, Watts thinks Arsenal should really be looking for an emerging talent like Sesko. Fans of Arsenal will have to wait to find out who signs with the team this summer.
