Romalu Lukaku is unlikely to be included in any swap deal. Chelsea is not looking to recruit Victor Osimhen, claims Fabrizio Romano. The Blues’ attention now turns to investigating other striker possibilities during the approaching summer.
Ever since the January transfer window, Chelsea has been looking for a striker, and they are expecting to make a big acquisition in the summer. Talks turned to Victor Osimhen, who freely declared his desire to join the Blues.
Rumours in the media have increased about Osimhen’s possible transfer to Chelsea; some have said he wants to emulate his idol Didier Drogba. But any possible agreement would need a large financial outlay; Osimhen’s release clause, which was included in his contract extension with Napoli in December, is over €130 million.
Chelsea Take A Decision On Signing Victor Osimhen
In his most recent statement, Fabrizio Romano clarifies that there are no ongoing talks between Chelsea and Napoli over the striker’s move, therefore ending rumors tying the team to Osimhen. Though Chelsea is still looking for a striker, Osimhen is not in their immediate plans.
Further restricting Chelsea’s choices are reports that Romelu Lukaku and Osimhen were to be swapped, which Romano has denied. Given the great certainty surrounding Osimhen’s departure from Napoli, Chelsea will thus have to look at other options rather than pursue him.
Benjamin Sesko has come up as a possible target as Chelsea assesses its striker options. According to rumors, however, the RB Leipzig player prefers to join Arsenal, and the Gunners are making headway in their pursuit of the Slovenian attacker. There may be a revival of interest in the Brentford striker as other names, like Ivan Toney, have also been connected to Chelsea.
Chelsea is also keeping an eye on Lautaro Martinez, who is now involved in contractual problems with Inter Milan. The circumstances surrounding the Argentine give Chelsea a chance to look at other options, however they will face competition from other teams.
Even after losing out on Osimhen, the Blues are still looking for players to strengthen their offensive options in the summer market. The club’s search for other targets shows its dedication to bolstering the team ahead of the next season, even if some supporters may be disappointed by Osimhen’s absence.

The Blues have high hopes for landing Michael Olise this summer. Though Manchester United is keeping an eye on him as well, Chelsea seems more certain this time. Olise almost came to Chelsea last summer. His release clause was for £35 million back then. Chelsea started it, but Olise decided to remain at Crystal Palace and inked a new contract. There are conflicting reports about the new release clause in this new contract. If Olise wants to go, the bidding will begin at £60 million even if Palace does not want to sell him.
This summer, the Blues want to go after Olise once again. He seems like a great fit for their squad. Still, Palace is probably going to want more than £60 million. To obtain him, Chelsea would have to outbid Manchester United, Arsenal, and Aston Villa.
Olise’s wanted by Manchester United as well. They think their team would benefit much from having him. They cannot, like Chelsea, provide him Champions League football, however. Though it’s unknown whether Olise favors those clubs, this might make Arsenal and Aston Villa more appealing possibilities.
