The Surprise Offer-
Antonio Conte is looking to make massive signings before the summer window for Chelsea after a rather underwhelming transfer window. However, they are now looking to make up with it by signing a few quality players and are interested in the services or Real Madrid man Marcos Llorente.
Chelsea missed out on their prime targets this season after Romelu Lukaku joined title rivals Manchester United and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain joined other title rivals Liverpool, Chelsea fans have been frustrated by the lack of arrivals at Stamford Bridge.
However, new signing Alvaro Morata has been able to find some of his form as he continues to adapt to the Premier League.
It was suggested that Conte was hopeful that he can secure a deal for another Real Madrid outcast Marco Llorente.
Llorente has been termed as surplus by Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane and may not see a future at the club as there is too much of competition for a first team berth, especially regarding Llorente unfortunately plays as a central midfielder.
Isco, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Marco Asensio and Lucas Vazquez are just a few of the talented central midfielder’s the champions of Europe contain in their armory. For Llorente, there seems very little hope of breaking into the first team as a regular.
Therefore Chelsea are looking to snap up the young midfielder who is highly-rated but has made just three appearances for the La Liga winners. Llorente caught the eye when he was on loan with Spanish side Alves last season as he made 32 appearances for them.
At just 22, it would be a shame for such a talented youngster to not obtain regular football at a promising level.
With the transfer window now shut, Chelsea have already made their signings on deadline day, as they look to add reinforcements to their title winning squad.
The Most Successful English Club In The Transfer Market?
The two deadline day buys have put the Londoners in the driving seat, as they will look to defend the league title this term and Conte now will feel much more confident, after the initial 3-2 loss to Burnley on the opening day of the season. His team recovered well with the couple of wins that followed and have six points now from three matches.
Champions League will also be an important avenue that the Italian manager will want to target in the days to come, once the competition does begin. The west London side will be making their return to the competition and will be keen on impressing.
With fierce rivals Manchester United looking good on top of the points table at the moment, it will be in the best interest of Conte’s team to catch up with them and take the lead, as soon as possible.
With these new additions to the already existing squad, things could get interesting in the days to come, as the cup competitions kick off as well.
