Manchester United Make Contact With The €50m Star

The agents of 16-year-old River Plate wonderkid Franco Mastantuono have apparently been contacted by Manchester United. The youthful talent is also being shown interest in by Real Madrid, which makes the hunt for Mastantuono fascinating. The €45 million release provision in the contract of the adolescent phenomenon will rise to €50 million at the conclusion of the transfer window.

Over the last 12 months, Franco Mastantuono has drawn the attention of many in the football world. The youthful prodigy comes from Azul and began his playing career with a neighborhood club before transferring to Club Cemento. Joining River Plate in 2019 was his big break. Mastantuono has come along in an amazing way since. Being the third youngest player to do so, he earned his River Plate first-team debut earlier this year. He set even another record in February when he scored the youngest goal in River Plate history. Mastantuono has made 17 first-team appearances, scoring two goals and dishing out one assist.

It seems logical why Manchester United is interested in Mastantuono. Young talent has long been developed by the club, and some academy grads have made important contributions to the first squad. United has shown its desire to bring the young Argentine to Old Trafford by corresponding with Mastantuono’s agents.

But Real Madrid offers fierce competition. The Spanish giants have a good eye for potential from South America; players like Federico Valverde, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo are becoming essential members of their team. Mastantuono’s inclination to sign with Real Madrid may complicate Manchester United’s quest.

Though it may appear excessive, a €45 million release clause for a 16-year-old might be a steal if Mastantuono realizes his full potential. Any talks will become more urgent since the price will increase to €50 million in the last days of the transfer window. Manchester United and Real Madrid have to compare the possible benefits of acquiring one of the most exciting young players in football with the financial risk.

Mastantuono is up for transfer as Real Madrid and Manchester United fight for his services. Moving to any team may have a big impact on his career. United provides a stage on which upcoming players have plenty of chances to show themselves. Conversely, Real Madrid offers the platform on which South American players have traditionally flourished and become international superstars.

Franco Mastantuono will have to decide what to do in the upcoming weeks. The young player has strong arguments to join both Manchester United and Real Madrid. Real Madrid’s appeal remains, even if United has made contact with his agents. Watching intently to see where Mastantuono goes will be both fans and analysts. The Santiago Bernabéu or Old Trafford will be his next big move in his developing career.

A new midfielder is Arsenal’s primary goal this summer, and the club still considers Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad to be a “realistic possibility”. Though Zubimendi seemed happy to remain with Real Sociedad, the North London club has showed interest in the Spaniard for some period. Arsenal has struggled with this as convincing the 25-year-old to leave Spain has been challenging.
