Arsenal are looking to fill in a lot of areas in the summer transfer window. They are in search of players to rejuvenate their squad and this time thump Manchester City for the premier League title. In such a quest, as reports revealed that Arsenal were very much interested to sign Xavi Simons from PSG. However, now sources say, that Manchester United have taken the lead to sign Xavi Simons in the summer.
Xavi Simons has grown from strength to strength in the last two seasons. He is a product of the FC Barcelona’s youth system.However, he forced a move to PSG in search of regular first team football. Unfortunately, he did not get that in PSG. He joined PSV in 2022.
Manchester United Set To Hijack Arsenal Target
He had an exceptional season playing for the PSV. Then PSG managed to sign him again for €4m in the last summer transfer window. He was then loaned to RB Leipzig in the last season where he registered 10 goals and 15 assists in the 44 games that he has played.
The 21 year old desperately wanted to go back to Barcelona in this summer. However, Barcelona are struggling with financial issues and hence will not be able to sign him in the summer. Meanwhile, Arteta is looking for reinforcements in the attacking and striker half.
Chelsea are also looking to sign him the summer. Meanwhile, PSG can also use him as a winger, although he is more effective in the creative position. However, Manchester United are now leading the race to sign him. They want to bring him on loan and play him the right wing position which has been a problem;em for them. PSG won’t mind a season long loan deal yet again. So, Manchester United might be the destination for him in the summer. However, we need to wait and see what happens finally in the summer.
